Australia Women vs England Women Commentary

12:13 PM IST That will be it. The rain has the final say and Australia Women win this clash by 6 runs as per DLS method. The rain was pelting down heavily and the chances of resumption looked bleak. England Women came close today but continue to remain winless in this Ashes series.
12:12 PM IST Australia Women skipper, Tahlia McGrath is also the PLAYER OF THE GAME TODAY.  Says that she feels good and it was a team performance today. Lauds Grace Harris for her knock at the backend of the innings. Mentions that it was tough to bowl in these conditions but the bowlers did a fine job. Ends by sharing that they had a few strategies and she's glad that it paid off for them.
12:10 PM IST Heather Knight, the England Women skipper is up for a chat. She says that it was a great game of cricket. Shares that they managed to get the partnership going but was unfortunate for it to end that way. Mentions that it was going to be a tough chase but they fought well and will take that confidence forward. Ends by adding that there are a few positives today and she's proud of the way the girls fought.
12:10 PM IST Australia Women continue their dominance and win yet another fixture in this Women's Ashes by 6 runs as per the DLS method. Chasing 186 for the win, England Women lost Maia Bouchier early but Sophia Dunkley (32 off 22) and Danni Wyatt-Hodge (52 off 40) batted superbly and added 52 for the second wicket in quick time. Natalie Sciver-Brunt played a handy knock through the middle but the star of the batting was the English skipper Heather Knight who smashed a quick-fire 43 off 19 and remained unbeaten in the end. She batted with great intent and found the boundaries at will. With 18 needed off 5 balls, she had the momentum with her but the rain came back at the wrong time, and England Women agonizingly fell short.
12:07 PM IST UPDATE - (11.51 am GMT) - Oh, no, no, no! Not in this manner! It has started to rain heavily and the players are going off. Heather Knight is not happy with it and understandably so, it was the best chance England have had of winning a game this series and it might have just slipped away but they still needed a big flourish to get the win. The groundsmen rush in with the covers. The DLS par score at the moment is 174. England Women are six runs behind it.
12:06 PM IST Right then, that will be it from this contest. We hope you enjoyed the coverage. Do join in for the third and the final T20I of the Ashes series on Saturday (January 25th) from the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide. That game will start at 8.15 am GMT.
